James began his career in journalism at the BBC, within the film unit of the Radio Times, and has been reporting on environmental business issues since 2002. Prior to launching New Energy Focus, he was deputy editor at the recycling and waste sector news service letsrecycle.com, and also news editor of Resource Management & Recovery magazine. A graduate in geography at Edinburgh university, he received his journalism training at the Cardiff School of Journalism.

Rachel joined New Energy Focus in August 2008, after a year on the editorial team at construction industry magazine Building Products. She has written for the Independent on Sunday and 24 Hour Museum, and has contributed articles on environmental issues for the local Brighton magazine NC. Rachel graduated from the University of Sussex in 2005 with a degree in politics, and received her journalism training at City College Brighton.
